Last year, I attended History Camp Boston, where Nat Sheidley (from the Bostonian Society) and I presented about Blood on the Snow. This year, I’ll be there to talk about Robert Smalls, the historical subject of my novel, Steering to Freedom.
If you’re a history geek and are anywhere near Boston, I highly encourage you to check out this event. It’s just a one-day thing on July 7th, where hundreds of history enthusiasts gather to hear dozens of talks about a whole range of topics, presented by ordinary history lovers who are passionate about their subjects. It’s called an “un-conference” very informal, peer-led, inexpensive. The energy and ideas swirling around is so much fun.
It sells out fast, so get your tickets while they last.
